Jacques Zakayi Mbumba
Barrister Jacques Zakayi Mbumba has been a lawyer since 1996, when he was registered at the Bar of Matadi. He joined Cabemery in 2006 and has been supervising its branch office in Matadi ever since.
A former member of the Council of Barristers of the Bar of Matadi where he held, successively, the positions of Deputy Secretary of the Council, lecturer in charge of the vocational training, and Council Secretary. Mr. Jacques Zakayi Mbumba is currently a Barrister with the Council of Matadi Lawyers. He therefore sits on the conference of DRC Barristers
A member of the Association International des Avocats and of the International Association of Young Lawyers, Barrister Jacques Zakayi Mbumba intervenes in the practice of mining law, companies law, maritime law and family law.
Mining law -Barrister Jacques Zakayi Mbumba has advised several clients in securing mining titles and in disputes relating to mining and quarry rights. He has recently, under the supervision of Mr. Emery Mukendi Wafwana, advised the DRC Government in the review of more than 20 mining contracts.
Companies law -Barrister Jacques Zakayi Mbumba has advised several investors based in Bas-Congo, at large, and in Matadi, in particular, in the incorporation and functioning of companies. In this regard, he has drafted several companies contract and helped investors in the incorporation of their companies.
Maritime law -Barrister Jacques Zakayi Mbumba has attended several seminars organized by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). He has undertaken, on behalf of clients, several procedures for the seizure of ships and maritime mortgages. He has also drafted many contracts for ships chartering.
Family law -Barrister Jacques Zakayi Mbumba assists clients in divorce and child affiliation issues.
Based in Matadi, Barrister Jacques Zakayi Mbumba lectures in criminal procedures at the Université Libre de Kinshasa, Matadi campus.
